John Havlicek’s Daughter, Jill Havlicek
Jill, John Havlicek’s daughter, has had a successful athletic career herself. Growing up with an NBA legend for a father, Jill quickly took to basketball, soccer and lacrosse. She played sports throughout high school and college, and continues to stay active today.
She attended Noble and Greenough School in Dedham, Massachusetts. She excelled in both academics and athletics. Jill was on the varsity basketball, soccer and lacrosse team, and helped each team achieve excellence. She played basketball each of her three years at Noble, and in her senior year, she was made captain. Jill was named to the Boston Globe All-Scholastic team twice. She was also named twice as All-League for lacrosse.
After graduating from Nobles, Jill attended the University of Virginia, like her brother, Chris. There, she was a starter for three years and became the team’s captain her senior year. In 1993, her team won the NCAA Division I Championship.
UVA is also where Jill met fellow athlete and future husband, Brian Buchanan. At first just friends, the two eventually fell in love, and Brian proposed to Jill at John Havlicek’s Cape Cod home. The couple has four children together.
